Chicago Collections Consortium (CCC) launched its first public exhibition at the Chicago Public Library’s Harold Washington Library Center from August 7-November 15.  The exhibit highlighted notable archives, manuscripts and objects from over 20 member collections. Curated by Riva Feshbach, “Raw Material: Uncovering Chicago’s Historical Collections” showcased the resources and evidence that help bring Chicago’s stories to life. The exhibit was accompanied by lectures, artist talks, and educational projects. An opening reception for the CCC community and supporters was held on August 6 with welcoming remarks by David Spadafora, President of the Newberry Library and Chair of the CCC Board, and a brief talk by Dominick Pacyga, Columbia College Chicago and author of several books on Chicago.
