The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation approved the Chicago Collections Consortium (CCC) proposal for a planning grant in June. Teams began meeting in August to do the necessary work, which continued over the next 18 months.
The University of Illinois Chicago Library (UIC), in connection with the Chicago Collections Consortium (CCC), announced on April 9, 2014 that it had received a $194,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the development and implementation of the Chicago Portal. The grant was awarded to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees on behalf of the Library, which was leading the project. Learn more here.
