The Archives and Special Collections at Cudahy Library consist of over 140 years of institutional records documenting the growth of Loyola University Chicago in relation to the growth of the city of Chicago. Manuscript collections highlight the areas of Chicago politics (Dan Rostenkowski, Henry Hyde, and Arthur Berman papers); business (Cuneo family papers); Catholic action and organizations (CISCA, Catholic Church Extension Society records); education; history (scrapbooks and Dorr E. Felt collection); theatre; Cook County judges; immigration; and public utilities (Samuel Insull papers).
Women and Leadership Archives
The Women and Leadership Archives holds manuscript collections in the areas of activism (Patricia Crowley papers, O.S.B. papers, Chicago Catholic Women records); business; arts, literature, theatre and performance; ecumenical organizations (Church Women United); education; health; politics; and women’s religion. The Women and Leadership Archives also holds the records of Mundelein College (1930-1991), the last four-year women’s college in Illinois before its affiliation with Loyola University Chicago.
