The Chicago Collections Consortium (CCC) was officially approved as a not-for-profit corporation in Illinois in June 2012 with 12 Founding Members: The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago History Museum, Chicago Public Library, Columbia College Chicago, DePaul University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University Chicago, Newberry Library, Northwestern University, Roosevelt University, University of Chicago, and University of Illinois Chicago. The CCC considers this its formal launch date. Mary M. Case, University Librarian and Dean of Libraries at University of Illinois Chicago, was elected the first CCC Board chair.
